Liwan district in Guangzhou is now offering big discounts to moviegoers at some 14 cinemas spreading across the district. The bonus will be given to both Guangzhou citizens and tourists, throughout December.

These cinemas are located in bustling areas around major metro stations and commercial complexes as well as scenic spots like Lizhi Wan (Litchi Bay), Yong Qing Fang and Shamian Island.

Discounts of movie tickets vary among cinemas. For example, the Rive Gauche Cinema Haihuicheng branch (左岸影城海荟城店), with typical Xiguan architectural style, offers a package of four tickets at only 100 yuan (US $15.29). The Liby Center branch of Hayi Cinema (哈艺时尚影城立白中心店), located in the central area of Bai E Tan (白鹅潭) and near the Fangcun metro station, has rolled out a preferential package of "5 tickets+popcorn snacks" for only 100 yuan.
