1. The Hong Kong government announced an array of tightened anti-pandemic measures that will come into effect on Wednesday, which include closing amusement parks, karaoke lounges, games centres and swimming pools and limiting public gatherings to two people.

 

2. The Liwan district government in Guangzhou has rolled out a large movie tickets sale throughout December, engaging 14 cinemas in the district, as part of the efforts to boost the film industry that has been profoundly impacted by COVID-19.

 

3. Foshan unveiled plans on Monday to recruit more than 10,000 volunteers by the end of this year as a backup force for the community emergency response teams.

 

4. Starting today, disposable non-degradable plastic products are banned from production, sale and use in South China's island province of Hainan, according to a government notice.

 

5. Starting from today (Dec.1), playing music or videos on speakers will be banned on Shanghai Metro.

 

6. Etihad Airways will start flights connecting Beijing to Abu Dhabi from December 7. The service will operate with a weekly flight using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

 

7. The Chinese mainland on Monday registered 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, four locally transmitted in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and eight from overseas. No new confirmed infections but three asymptomatic cases were reported in Guangdong province in the past 24 hours.

4. A woman in Singapore, who contracted the novel coronavirus in March when she was pregnant, has given birth to a baby with antibodies against the virus, hinting at the possibility of the transfer of infection from mother to child, local media reported on Monday.

 

5. Chairman of Sudan's Sovereignty Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday discussed arrangements about removing Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism in the coming weeks.
