The 10th Guangzhou International Light Festival kicked off on November 18 in Huacheng Square, Haixinsha Island, and a few other venues in Guangzhou, illuminating the city with dozens of stunning lighting works.

13 sets of lighting works, creating amazing animated scenes and paving the road with 'flowers', provided exciting immersive and interactive experiences to visitors.

Drones formed images, such as Liangzai, the icon of the festival, and kapok, the city flower of Guangzhou, over the Pearl River in celebration of the light festival.

Lighting displays in the sub-venues of Beijinglu and Haizhu Square also wowed visitors with amazing images and colorful light combinations.

Major bridges — Haiyin Bridge, Liede Bridge and Haizhu Bridge — as well as building facades along the north bank of the Pearl River, were lit up with colorful lights and amazing virtual images.

The festival will last through November 29.
Hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Guangzhou extravaganza is hailed as one of the three greatest light festivals in the world, along with the Vivid Sydney of Australia and the Fête des Lumières à Lyon of France. A grand ceremony of culture and art, the annual visual feast has attracted over 63 millions of visitors globally since its debut in 2011.
