China's positive progress in the hydrogen industry not only helps the country combat climate change and accelerate its transformation to a green economy but also facilitates its carbon neutrality goal before 2060, Beate Trankmann，the resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China said at the UNDP Hydrogen Industry Conference 2020 held in Foshan, Guangdong Province on Oct.19.

联合国开发计划署驻华代表白雅婷在10月19日于广东佛山举行的2020联合国开发计划署氢能产业大会上表示，中国在氢能产业取得的积极进展不但有助于中国应对气候变化、加快向绿色经济转型，而且有助于中国在2060年前实现碳中和的目标。

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Sept 22, President Xi Jinping said China will strive to peak its carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.

9月22日，中国国家主席习近平在联合国大会上的讲话中提到，中国将力争于2030年前二氧化碳排放达到峰值，并在2060年前实现碳中和。

If China were to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, it would lower global warming projections by around 0.2 to 0.3 degrees Celsius, said a new study by Climate Action Tracker, a Berlin-based non-profit climate science and policy institute.

位于柏林的非营利性气候科学与政策研究所——气候行动跟踪组织的一项新研究称，如果中国能在2060年之前实现碳中和，那么该组织对全球变暖的预测将降低0.2至0.3摄氏度。

Carbon neutrality means having net-zero carbon dioxide emissions. For every amount of carbon a company or country produces, it should be taking steps to remove the same amount of carbon from the atmosphere if it wants to achieve carbon neutrality.

碳中和意味着二氧化碳零排放。一个公司或一个国家想实现碳中和，就应当在排放一定数量二氧化碳的同时，采取措施从大气中去除同等数量的二氧化碳。
