A total of 184 countries and economies have now joined COVAX, an international initiative co-led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners to ensure effective and equitable global access to COVID-19 vaccines, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on Monday.
10月19日,世界卫生组织总干事谭德塞宣布,全球已有184个国家和经济体加入“新冠肺炎疫苗实施计划”(COVAX),这是一项由世界卫生组织和其合作伙伴共同主导的一项国际计划,以确保全球有效及公平地获得新冠疫苗。
As one of the leading countries in vaccine development, China has officially joined COVAX (COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access). This is an important step China has taken to uphold the concept of a shared community of health for all and to honor its commitment of turning COVID-19 vaccines into a global public good.
作为疫苗研发的主要国家之一,中国已经正式加入“新冠肺炎疫苗实施计划”(COVAX)。这是中国秉持人类卫生健康共同体理念、履行自身承诺推动疫苗成为全球公共产品的一个重要举措。
According to the website of WHO, as of Oct. 19, there were 198 COVID-19 candidate vaccines being developed worldwide, and 44 of them were in clinical trials.
世界卫生组织网站显示,截至10月19日,全球正在研发的候选新冠疫苗共有198种,其中有44种已进入临床试验阶段。
