In a speech delivered at a celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in Shenzhen on Oct. 14，President Xi Jinping highlighted the need to plan the development of strategic emerging sectors, foster the growth of future industry and develop the digital economy.

10月14日，中国国家主席习近平在庆祝深圳经济特区建立40周年庆祝大会上的讲话中强调要前瞻布局战略性新兴产业，培育发展未来产业，发展数字经济。

China issued a guideline focused on boosting investment in "strategic emerging sectors," like 5G commercialization, vaccine applications and chip manufacturing in September this year.

今年9月份，中国发布了一份指导意见，重点推动对“战略性新兴产业”的投资，如5G商用、疫苗应用和芯片制造等。

The guideline, which has been released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and three other ministries, highlights 20 different development directions. Under that orientation document, China will build 10 strategic emerging industrial bases with global influence, 100 strategic emerging industrial clusters with international competitiveness, and foster 1,000 ecosystems with unique characteristics.

由国家发展改革委和其他三个部委发布的这一指导意见，强调了20种不同的发展方向。根据该指导文件，中国将建设10个具有全球影响力的战略性新兴产业基地、100个具有国际竞争力的战略性新兴产业集群，并培育1000个独具特色的生态系统。

Many experts said they believe that strategic emerging sectors will be the backbone of China's next phase of industrial and technological development in the international arena.

许多专家表示，他们相信战略性新兴产业将成为中国下一阶段在国际舞台上工业和技术发展的支柱。
