The 128th China Import and Export Fair, or the Canton Fair, will be held online from tomorrow (October 15) to October 24, according to the Ministry of Commerce. This is the second online session of the fair since its establishment, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Around 25,000 domestic and international exhibitors will be making online presentations at the 10-day fair. Some 60,000 online booths will be set up, presenting global buyers with products and services of 16 categories in 50 exhibition zones. As of October 9, over 2.26 million products have been uploaded to the online exhibition platform.

The Canton Fair has equipped itself with advanced technology to further smooth out trades and communications between exhibitors and buyers, including upgrading its online platform in the sectors of user registration, around-the-clock goods display and business negotiations.
A brand-new cloud-based communication platform, based on digital information technology, will be built in France, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and Tanzania amid the event, to offer shared business opportunities for both exhibitors and overseas purchasers.
A barometer of China's foreign trade, the Canton Fair has been held twice a year for the past 63 years. Impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, the 127th Canton Fair was held online for the first time and yielded fruitful results, drawing nearly 26,000 domestic and foreign enterprises, with 1.8 million products exhibited.
