China's fastest metro trains — traveling at 160 kilometers per hour — made their debut in Guangzhou on September 25.
Mainly in white and decorated with blue and golden stripes respectively, the trains will run on Guangzhou Metro lines 18 and 22 which are currently still under construction. With the trains’ service, it will take only 25 minutes from the Nansha Free Trade Zone to the Guangzhou South Railway Station, and 30 minutes to the Guangzhou East Railway Station.
The trains will beat out those of Metro Line 3 which are now the fastest available at a speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

The trains have modern interior designs and will provide flexible seating, enabling a passenger capacity 20% larger than ordinary high-speed trains. Light colors can be adjusted automatically between warm and cool to best fit the season.
The trains also adopt an intelligent operation and maintenance system for a safer and more sustainable run.
