A new round of concentrated rainfall has started today, and will dominate southern cities in China with temperature drops in the next two days, according to China's National Meteorological Center.
Torrential rain is mainly seen today in the country's southwestern region, and is expected to shroud the central part of South China and regions south of the Yangtze River. Downpours will grip coastal and southern parts of Guangdong province this weekend, local media reported today.
A new southward cold wave will also arrive this weekend, bringing frequent thunderstorms and a slight temperature drop to Guangzhou. Severe convective weather conditions like short-range heavy precipitation, thundering and gales are forecast, and citizens are advised to pay attention to possible rain-induced hazards like landslide and debris flow.
