Heli-Eastern (东部首航), a low-altitude traffic operator in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), recently launched Guangzhou's first urban air route in Zhujiang New Town, slashing the travel time between the CBD area of Guangzhou and Shenzhen to 25 minutes from over two hours by land.

With a helipad atop Yuexiu Financial Tower (越秀金融大厦) at Zhujiang New Town, the city's CBD area, the new air route offers helicopter services for business people heading for GBA cities like Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao. An important part of the city's low-altitude aviation transportation network, the new aviation service will shuttle passengers in a faster and more intelligent way while offering them a chance to take in the city's view from above.

At present, around 30 flights are operating per day, providing services on a membership basis.

In addition to business travel, the helicopter flight will also be used for emergency medical service and tourism sightseeing. A sightseeing route across the central axis of the city has started trial operation, the first-ever in China, according to the operator.
