According to meteorological authorities, Maysak is expected to be the strongest typhoon in Northwest Pacific this year, which will bring strong winds to coastal areas like Zhejiang province and Shanghai.
Under the affect of the sinking airflow brought by Typhoon Maysak, most regions of Guangdong province will see high temperature of 35-37℃, with some areas to hit 39℃. Thunderstorms are forecast in eastern Pearl River Delta, and eastern and western Guangdong.

Yellow alert for high temperature has been in effect for days in Guangzhou, and will be in place in the city for the next 10 days. Scattered, regional thunderstorms are forecast in the afternoon and at night, accompanied by strong winds and short-time heavy precipitation.
Compared with previous typhoons, those coming after August may be stronger and more likely to visit Guangdong and Hainan provinces. They also are easier to be influenced by cold air, and get more changeable in their moving paths and strength. This September, Guangdong is expected to brace landfalls of or be severely hit by one to two tropical cyclones, according to the local meteorological department.
