The WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the world needs to prevent vaccine nationalism so as to guarantee the equitable access and fair allocation of COVID-19 vaccines.

世卫组织总干事谭德塞表示,全世界应当一同防止疫苗民族主义,以确保世界各国能够获得新冠疫苗的公平使用和分配。

"Vaccine nationalism" means every country acting for itself rather than for the global common good when it comes to securing vaccines.

WHO's antidote for "vaccine nationalism" is the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) Facility, a pact of its 194 member states aimed at guaranteeing access of these drugs globally.
