China


1. China's national college entrance exam, or Gaokao, ended in some parts of China on Wednesday, including Guangdong. Results will be released at the end of July.

 

2. China has added another two geological parks (The Xiangxi Geopark in central China's Hunan Province and Zhangye Geopark in northwest China's Gansu Province) to its list of UNESCO Global Geoparks, bringing the total number to 41, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration said Wednesday.

 

3. Chinese mainland reported 9 confirmed COVID-19 cases, all imported, three in Liaoning and Shanghai respectively, two in Guangdong and one in Sichuan. Guangdong also reported three asymptomatic infections yesterday.

 

4. Beijing recorded no new domestically transmitted cases for two consecutive days since Tuesday.

 

5. Hong Kong's health officials on Wednesday reported 24 new coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours, among which 19 cases were locally transmitted.

 

6. E-ticket system will be launched Thursday on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the world's highest rail system, in northwest China, the railway operator said Wednesday.

 

7. In response to the U.S. erroneous act, China decides to impose visa restrictions on U.S. individuals with egregious conducts on Tibet-related issues, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said Wednesday.

1. The United States recorded 55,000 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours Wednesday, a tally by Johns Hopkins University showed, bringing its total to 3,046,351.
