All passengers entering Guangzhou from checkpoints, both foreigners and Chinese residents, are required to be tested for the coronavirus when they arrive at exit and entry ports, effective from March 19. Guangzhou has also introduced quarantine measures for different groups of people entering the city.
1. From other cities in Guangdong: No mandatory quarantine required for passengers with a body temperature below 37.3℃ and showing no symptoms of the infection.
2. From outside the province: A mandatory quarantine required for travelers with a red Suikang code or Yuekang code.
3. From Wuhan, central China's Hubei province: a 14-day mandatory quarantine and two nucleic acid tests are required for people with a red or yellow health code of Hubei province, or without claiming a health code in Hubei and Guangdong.
4. From overseas: A concentrated quarantine and nucleic acid testing are required for all inbound travelers, effective from March 27. Travelers from overseas—including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan—as well as those who transfer at the city's checkpoints, will be quarantined in designated facilities for 14 days. The quarantine expenses will be paid by passengers themselves.

Starting April 28, all passengers entering the Chinese mainland via Shenzhen checkpoints are required to undergo a mandatory 14-day concentrated quarantine upon arrival, according to the latest notice by the Office of Port of Entry and Exit of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.
The notice said that no point-to-point transfer services will be offered to inbound arrivals with a destination of other cities in Guangdong, effective from April 28. The city also will not arrange chartered buses to pick up those who head for Shenzhen but enter the Chinese mainland via the cities of Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Jieyang.
Zhuhai recently announced that from April 28, inbound arrivals via the city's checkpoints will be put under a centralized quarantine for 14 days upon entry.
Specific groups of people can be exempted from the restriction, including: people engaged in emergency services; employees working in the Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone（珠澳跨境工业区）; drivers with license plate numbers of both Guangdong and Macao; citizens with a mainland residence permit but work or study in Macao and live in Zhuhai; the elderly (aged 70 and above), juveniles (aged 14 or below), pregnant women, people with disabilities, and patients who need to visit a designated hospital.
For those inbound travelers heading for other cities in the province, no more point-to-point transfer services will be offered. Also, no more chartered bus will be sent to Shenzhen and Guangzhou to pick up inbound arrivals with a destination of Zhuhai.
