Suikang code required at metro and airport from tomorrow
语音播报

Starting tomorrow (April 27), Guangzhou Metro will require a mandatory temperature check and Suikang code (from the WeChat mini-program, Suikang) or Yuekang code (from the WeChat mini-program, Yueshengshi) for all passengers entering metro stations. Those with a red code or an abnormal body temperature will be denied entry.

For codes issued by Guangzhou's Suikang mini-program, a red one indicates the holder is a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case or their close contact; a blue one means the holder is in normal health condition, while a green one means the holder acquires the code with the help from others and has low risks of virus transmission.

For the elderly and children without a smartphone, their fellow travelers can apply for a health code for them and show it to the staff when entering metro stations. A printed green Suikang code is also recognized, according to Guangzhou Metro.

From tomorrow, Baiyun International Airport also will require all passengers to go through temperature checks and present their Suikang codes upon arrival, including those entering T1 and T2 terminals as well as hotels and departure lounges. The move is a part of the airport's broader efforts to tackle the novel coronavirus.

Passengers with a green or blue Suikang code will gain access, while those with a red code will be refused entry to the airport.

Foreigners and people from Hong Kong and Macao, with a WeChat app on their cellphones, can apply for a Suikang code after registering with their passport or travel permits at the mini-program.

Those without a WeChat app or a smartphone can also acquire a Suikang code with the help from their fellow travelers or staff at the airport.
