Guangdong Folk Arts Museum reopens to the public

Guangdong Folk Arts Museum reopens to the public today (March 10), with proper epidemic prevention and control measures, announced the museum on its official WeChat account. 


According to the announcement, outdoor areas and exhibition halls of the museum will resume services in an orderly manner, while indoor areas and service centers shall remain closed.

 


For safety concerns, group visitors are not accepted at present. Services, like tour guide and interpretation, are not available, except audio guides.

 


The opening hours of the museum will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and to control the number of visitors, only 480 visitors are allowed entry per day. Visitors can purchase tickets online at Guangdong Folk Arts Museum WeChat account (ID: GDFAmuseum ) or scan the following QR Code.



Visitors are required to provide reservation information and show museum staff their health code from the WeChat mini-program "Suikang" (穗康) when entering. Citizens with a travel history to hard-hit areas and under 14-day quarantine will be denied entry. Also, visitors must wear masks and have their temperature taken before entering.



Guangdong Folk Arts Museum is located in the Chen Clan Academy, the most famous architecture of Qing dynasty in Guangdong province. It houses all kinds of collections, including ivory carvings, porcelain and various Chinese paper cutting works, showcasing folk arts and traditional crafts from Guangdong province and other parts of China.

 



In addition to the exhibits, visitors can also see historical remains with western cultural styles inside the museum, such as the angel sculpture, the sparrow brace in the shape of a foreign figure and the corridor with iron pillars.
